Over 400 Riders Unite for Men’s Health Awareness in Faridabad

Faridabad, 10th November 2024 – In a powerful show of support for men’s health awareness, ILSS Hospitals hosted the “Wheels for Wellness” rally in Faridabad, where over 400 riders from Faridabad, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Meerut gathered to ride for a meaningful cause. The rally, the first of its kind in India focused on men’s health, brought together both professional and amateur riders, with diverse groups including senior citizens and specially-abled participants.

The rally was flagged off from ILSS Ashwani Hospital, Sector 11, by ACP Vinod Kumar. The route led riders through key landmarks, including Mathura Road, Badkhal Mor, Greater Faridabad, and the BPTP flyover, passing IOCL and several city sectors before concluding back at ILSS Ashwani Hospital.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Prem Kumar, Chairman of General Surgery at ILSS Hospitals, introduced the ILSS Group and its commitment to healthcare. This was followed by insightful health talks from Chairman of Urology Dr. Tanuj Paul Bhatia and Director of Urology Dr. Sumit More, who highlighted the significance of November, known globally as “Movember,” a month dedicated to men’s health. Dr. Bhatia emphasized that as a leading urological institute, ILSS Hospitals is committed to raising awareness on men’s health topics such as prostate and testicular cancer, as well as addressing men’s sexual health.

Dr. Mahender Singh, Consultant Psychiatrist from GANAA Mental Health and Rehabilitation Centre, offered mental health guidance, discussing the importance of suicide prevention, the Movember theme for 2024. He highlighted the need for awareness around mental well-being as an essential component of overall health.

Dr. Tanuj also announced that ILSS Hospitals plans to establish the rally as an annual event each Movember, encouraging more people to join the ride and spread awareness about men’s health issues.

ACP Vinod Kumar commended the rally as a unique way to connect with the community, promote healthy habits, and address the critical issue of drug abuse, urging young participants to steer clear of substance misuse and vowing to make Faridabad a drug-free city.

The event also featured engaging activities for riders, including Zumba sessions, dips challenges, and dancing competitions. Helmets and bike kits were generously provided by sponsors like Studds and Pidilite, adding a fun element to the rally while promoting safety. Breakfast was provided by Tama and Baking Bliss.

“Wheels for Wellness” has set a new precedent in India’s health awareness initiatives, driving home the importance of men’s health and mental well-being in an engaging, community-oriented way.
