Residents of Sainik Colony Unite in Support of Vijay Pratap Singh

Three Toll Plazas to Be Removed in the City if Congress Forms the Government: Vijay Pratap Singh

Faridabad , 2 September , 2024 : Vijay Pratap Singh, a Congress leader from the Badkhal Assembly constituency, firmly declared that if Congress comes to power in the state, he promises to make the city toll-free. He stated that they would work to eliminate the Gurgaon, Badarpur, and Sohna toll taxes. He questioned why the people of Faridabad must endure six toll plazas and what their fault is. Despite the Municipal Corporation’s annual budget being ₹2,500 crores, the city remains in poor condition because ₹250 crore files are created without any actual work being done, resulting in the embezzlement of funds. As a result, issues like sewage, waterlogging, roads, parks, and garbage problems remain unresolved. Even in the posh areas of the city, water hasn’t been supplied for weeks.

These remarks were made by Vijay Pratap Singh during a meeting with the residents of Sainik Colony at his residence on Sunday. The meeting allowed him to interact with the residents and listen to their suggestions and grievances. Vijay Pratap Singh emphasized that Sainik Colony is his home area, and he considers the people there as his family. He assured them that they could visit his home anytime and that they would always find their family there. He expressed his commitment to organizing an annual event where everyone could gather and celebrate as a community. He acknowledged that there might have been some shortcomings on their part in the past but urged everyone to come together this time and move forward.

He promised to work with the people to establish new standards of development and ensure that they would not have any complaints. He vowed that the residents of Sainik Colony would no longer have to struggle with basic issues. The problem of waterlogging in the market would be resolved, and the community center would be rebuilt within six months. He also mentioned the issue of stray animals in the area, which prevents children from stepping outside. Despite crores of rupees being given to the Haryana Cow Service Commission, the situation remains unresolved.

Vijay Pratap Singh reminisced about the time when the Congress government was in power and Ch. Mahendra Pratap was a minister in the state government. At that time, Sainik Colony was a cooperative society, which had its limitations and constraints, preventing them from carrying out the necessary work. However, after Sainik Colony came under the Municipal Corporation in 2015, development work should have taken place. Before the 2019 elections, roads were inaugurated here, but the work remains incomplete. The roads that were constructed have started deteriorating within a year due to poor quality. He made it clear that if more than 50% of the funds are taken as commission, the quality of materials used can be imagined.

He pointed out that the residents of the colony have contributed over ₹100 crores to the government in the form of revenue from flat registrations, yet the current state of development is evident to everyone. Vijay Pratap Singh criticized the political system for deteriorating to the point where people have become disillusioned with politics. Despite paying lakhs in taxes, they still have to beg leaders and officials to get basic amenities, which is their right. It is the government’s duty to provide roads, sewage, electricity, and water with the money they receive from the public.

He accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of failing to accomplish any work during their ten-year tenure and only deceiving people with false promises. The entire city suffers from waterlogging, broken roads, and sewage issues. BJP has not been able to bring even one new college to the city in the last 10 years. Speaking of the metro, it was Congress that brought the metro to Faridabad. The BJP spoke of extending it from Ballabgarh to Palwal and Gurgaon, but not a single pillar has been erected.

He concluded by stating that the time has come to oust the BJP leaders who deceive people in the name of religion and caste, and instead, work towards the progress of the state, city, and villages. He urged everyone to use their wisdom and vote in large numbers for their benefit. He assured that once the government changes, they would see a transformation in the system, and instead of struggling for basic amenities like electricity, water, and sewage, they would be discussing universities, colleges, hospitals, and beautification of the city.
