Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, 17th December 2023– Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spearheaded the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, today, engaging with beneficiaries and reinforcing the government’s commitment to reaching citizens effectively. The Yatra, a national initiative, aims to evaluate the success of government schemes and ensure their timely delivery to deserving beneficiaries.
During the Yatra, the Prime Minister toured stalls, visited the Viksit Bharat Yatra Van and Quiz event, and interacted with recipients of various government programs. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the need for a hassle-free and time-bound delivery of schemes, stating, “Beneficiaries need not run around the government. The government must reach out to the beneficiaries instead.”
Highlighting the importance of successful schemes, Prime Minister Modi underscored their role in creating a sense of ownership among citizens. He shared that positive results, such as the distribution of 4 crore pucca homes under PMAY, should be saturated while ensuring inclusivity for those left behind. The Prime Minister regarded the Yatra as a personal examination, expressing a desire to hear from the people about the achieved results.
Reflecting on the impact of government schemes on ground-level officers, the Prime Minister noted that it fosters enthusiasm and contentment, unlocking a new dimension of happiness. He stressed the transformative power of firsthand knowledge, citing examples of schemes improving living conditions, instilling confidence, and reducing socio-economic disparities.
Drawing parallels with the pre-independence era, Prime Minister Modi urged citizens to adopt a similar vision for a Viksit Bharat, emphasizing unity and respect for every individual. He stated, “Once the seeds of Viksit Bharat are sown, the result of the next 25 years will be reaped by our future generations.”
Acknowledging the Yatra as a national endeavor, Prime Minister Modi urged direct participation, emphasizing that it transcends political affiliations. He encouraged beneficiaries and citizens to actively propagate the Yatra, believing that positivity begets a positive atmosphere. Concluding his address, he assured the people of Kashi that he would spare no efforts in fulfilling the national responsibility entrusted to him.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, accompanied the Prime Minister during the Yatra.
