New Delhi : India has intensified its diplomatic outreach to expose Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism on the global stage. In a coordinated effort, multi-party delegations led by Members of Parliament have been engaging with foreign governments to share New Delhi’s firm stance on zero tolerance for terrorism and to garner international support following recent terror attacks, including the one in Pahalgam.
One such delegation, led by senior Congress MP Dr. Shashi Tharoor, recently visited Guyana, a South American nation with significant geopolitical relevance. During a media briefing, Dr. Tharoor emphasized the importance of Guyana as a current non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), where its voice contributes to shaping global peace and security initiatives.
Dr. Tharoor stated that the Government of Guyana extended its full support to India’s right to defend itself against terrorism and affirmed its solidarity with India’s counter-terrorism efforts. “We received complete understanding and unconditional sympathy from the government of Guyana,” said Tharoor.
The delegation also met with Guyanese President Mohamed Irfaan Ali. In a strong statement following the meeting, President Ali said, “Terrorism and extremism are against every aspect of human dignity. Guyana rejects them in every shape and form.” The Indian delegation also held discussions with Mr. Manzoor Nadir, Speaker of the Parliament of Guyana, focusing on India’s ongoing Operation Sindoor and broader strategies in combating cross-border terrorism.
In a parallel outreach initiative, another multi-party delegation led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha visited Singapore. The delegation met with Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs. The discussion centered around India’s evolving counter-terrorism framework in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
The delegation underlined India’s emerging “new normal” in its approach to terrorism — a more proactive and decisive strategy — while reinforcing its commitment to international cooperation in combating extremism. They also highlighted Pakistan’s continued complicity in supporting and harboring terror groups, urging friendly nations to recognize and act against such threats to global peace.
