Indian Railways Announces Special Train Services from Jammu and Udhampur

New Delhi : In response to the prevailing situation and to ensure the smooth movement of passengers, Indian Railways has planned a series of special train services from Jammu and Udhampur. The move aims to address growing logistical demands and facilitate the safe and efficient transit of travelers.

As per official sources, the first special train, bearing number 04612, will depart from Jammu at 10:45 AM. This train is designed to cater to both reserved and unreserved passengers and will comprise 12 unreserved and 12 reserved coaches, offering flexibility for a wide range of travelers.

In addition, a 20-coach Vande Bharat Express will run from Udhampur at 12:45 PM, passing through Jammu and Pathankot. The high-speed train service is being deployed to provide faster and more comfortable travel for passengers moving through this critical corridor. Known for its speed, efficiency, and modern amenities, the inclusion of a Vande Bharat train in this special deployment reflects Indian Railways’ emphasis on prioritizing both comfort and urgency.

Further, another fully reserved special train is scheduled to depart from Jammu at 7 PM. Details regarding its route and stoppages are expected to be released shortly. Railway authorities have stated that adequate security, logistical support, and staff deployment will be ensured to manage passenger flow and maintain operational efficiency.

Railway officials have clarified that these special services are being introduced as a proactive measure to respond to dynamic travel needs arising out of the current circumstances. Enhanced monitoring mechanisms are in place at stations, and control rooms have been activated to assist passengers and ensure real-time updates.

The decision to operate additional trains from Jammu and Udhampur follows close coordination between the Railway Ministry, local administration, and security agencies. The stations are witnessing increased activity, and all efforts are being made to maintain order, cleanliness, and safety for travelers.

Passengers are advised to check seat availability, coach positions, and any operational changes through official railway platforms such as the NTES app, IRCTC website, or railway enquiry counters. The railways have also urged passengers to avoid falling for rumors or misinformation and rely only on official sources for updates.
