External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is leading the Indian delegation at the 24th Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Astana, Kazakhstan, representing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The summit will review the organization’s activities over the past two decades and discuss the state and prospects of multilateral cooperation, as well as topical regional and international issues.

Under India’s first-ever presidency of the SCO, the 23rd Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State was hosted in a virtual format on July 4th last year.

On the sidelines of the summit, Dr. Jaishankar met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and his counterparts from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. He also paid homage at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Pushkin Park in Astana.
