CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s initiative brings ‘ Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana’ to life — A historic step towards faith and cultural awakening in Chhattisgarh’s silver jubilee year

Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai launches Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana train to Ayodhya from Raipur, marking the state’s spiritual silver jubilee celebration.

Raipur, July 14, 2025– Marking the silver jubilee of Chhattisgarh’s formation, the ‘Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana’ — envisioned under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai — is steadily connecting with the lives and faith of the people across the state.

As part of this initiative, the first special train of the financial year 2025–26 will depart from Raipur Railway Station for Ayodhya Dham on July 15, 2025. On this auspicious occasion, CM Vishnu Deo Sai himself will flag off the train, officially commencing the latest phase of this spiritual journey. The train, carrying pilgrims from the Raipur division, will be flagged off in the presence of Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, and other public representatives. Also present will be Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman  Neelu Sharma, Managing Director Vivek Acharya, senior officials, DRM of South East Central Railway (Raipur Division)  Dayanand, Senior DCM Awadhesh Trivedi, and IRCTC – South Central Zone Group General Manager  P. Rajkumar.

It is noteworthy that on February 23, 2024, a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) with the aim of enabling every resident of the state to visit RamLala at Ayodhya Dham at least once in their lifetime.

In continuation of this MoU, the scheme was formally launched with a special train for pilgrims from the Raipur division on March 5, 2024. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off the train from Raipur Railway Station in the gracious presence of senior ministers and public representatives.

Following this, on March 11, a special train for pilgrims from the Bilaspur division was flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao. On June 19, a special train from the Surguja division was flagged off by MP  Chintamani Maharaj in the presence of MLAs and other representatives. On June 26, the first special train from the combined Durg and Bastar divisions, carrying 850 pilgrims, departed from Durg Railway Station. Each of these departures witnessed tremendous enthusiasm and devotion from pilgrims. The events were also attended in large numbers by media personnel, local citizens, district administration officials, staff of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, and IRCTC representatives.

It is worth mentioning that during the previous financial year, around 22,100 pilgrims were taken to Ayodhya Dham under the ‘Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana’. Under this ongoing initiative, weekly special trains will continue to operate from Raipur, Bilaspur, Surguja, and Durg-Bastar (combined) divisions, providing regular access for devotees to seek blessings of Ramlala at Ayodhya.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s initiative not only strengthens the spiritual fabric of the state but is also playing a key role is reaffirming Chhattisgarh’s identity as a land of faith, tradition, and heritage.
