Moscow May 14 2026: Russia has reaffirmed that it will stand by all its commitments related to energy supply agreements with India, signalling continuity and reliability in one of the most important pillars of bilateral trade. Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow remains fully committed to honouring every understanding reached with New Delhi in the energy sector.
Lavrov noted that the popular phrase Hindi Rusi bhai bhai is not just a symbolic chant but reflects a deeper cultural and diplomatic connection that has developed over decades. He emphasized that this sense of mutual trust continues to influence cooperation between the two countries across strategic areas including energy security.
He further highlighted that Russia views India as a key and dependable partner, especially in the global energy landscape where stability of supply has become increasingly important. According to him, both sides have consistently demonstrated the ability to maintain cooperation even amid shifting international conditions.
Reinforcing this position, Lavrov said that Russia intends to expand and strengthen its engagement with India in the coming years, ensuring that existing agreements are not only fulfilled but also built upon to enhance long term partnership and mutual benefit.
