New Delhi, June 9 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on completing 11 years in office, reflected on India’s journey of transformation under his leadership, crediting the collective efforts of 140 crore citizens and the government’s commitment to good governance.

In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi remarked that the past decade has been one of “remarkable progress” for India, driven by inclusive policies and rapid development across various sectors. He reiterated his government’s focus on Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, asserting that the administration has delivered results “with speed, scale, and sensitivity.”

The Prime Minister stated that India today is not only the world’s fastest-growing major economy but has also emerged as a key voice on global issues like climate change and digital innovation.

Taking office for the first time on June 9, 2014, Modi celebrated the occasion by launching a public survey via the NaMo App. Inviting citizens to share their opinions on India’s growth over the last 11 years, he said, “Your views matter the most! Let us know how you view India’s journey. #11YearsOfSeva.”

PM Modi highlighted how the NDA government has redefined women empowerment through landmark schemes such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and PM Awas Yojana, which prioritized housing under women’s names. He also credited Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao for igniting a nationwide movement for the girl child.

“From financial inclusion to smokeless kitchens and startup support, women are today leading in every sector—science, sports, education, entrepreneurship, and even the armed forces,” he noted.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also marked the milestone, describing the 11-year period as a time of “unprecedented development” and “transformational reforms” in India’s defence sector. He praised the push for Atmanirbhar Bharat as crucial to India’s rise as one of the top five global economies.

“India now stands firm and equipped to defend its sovereignty and integrity,” Singh said, calling the last decade a realization of the dreams envisioned by the nation’s founding leaders.

BJP President JP Nadda, addressing a press conference, emphasized that PM Modi has reshaped India’s political landscape. “Earlier politics was focused on appeasement and vote banks. Today, we have a governance model rooted in transparency, nationalism, and futuristic thinking,” he said.

He cited the abrogation of Article 370 and various economic reforms as examples of bold decisions taken under the Modi government.

However, not all voices were celebratory. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the BJP’s tenure, alleging that the last 11 years have weakened the foundations of India’s democracy and social fabric. Accusing the BJP-RSS alliance of systematically undermining constitutional institutions, Kharge claimed that “economic inequality, institutional damage, and societal division” have worsened during this period.
