Nuh– A late-night stunt video shot on National Highway 919 has led to multiple arrests after authorities took action against a group accused of disrupting traffic and endangering public safety.
The incident took place in the early hours of April 24 on the Dharuhera-Sohna road stretch, where a group returning from a wedding allegedly blocked the highway for nearly 15 minutes. Police said around 15 to 20 individuals, travelling in several vehicles, stopped traffic to film a social media reel.
Videos that later surfaced online showed people dancing on moving cars, climbing onto vehicle roofs, hanging out of windows, bursting firecrackers, and playing loud music while driving slowly. The act caused inconvenience to other commuters, who were forced to wait until the road was cleared.
The case came to the attention of Superintendent of Police Arpit Jain after the video went viral. Acting swiftly, police traced the suspects using vehicle registration numbers and arrested five individuals from Nizampur.
Authorities also seized six vehicles, including an Audi sedan and a Mahindra Thar, which are now part of the case property.
Police officials stated that the accused were related to a groom whose wedding had taken place a day earlier in the district. While five people have been arrested, at least seven others — including the groom and his father — are still on the run.
An FIR has been registered at Sadar Tauru police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to rash driving, public nuisance, and acts endangering life.
Officials confirmed that the viral video has been removed from social media platforms, and further investigation is underway to apprehend the remaining accused.
