11 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra to vote in phase 4

Mumbai, May 11, 2024 : Eleven constituencies of Western and North Maharashtra, besides some in the Marathwada region will vote in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha general elections scheduled on May 13. State Chief Electoral Officer and Principal
Secretary S. Chokkalingam, in a press statement issued Friday night, said Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Raver, Jalna, Aurangabad, Beed, Maval, Pune, Shirur, Ahmednagar, and Shirdi will vote on Monday and all arrangements are in place for a safe and secure polling process. Over 2.28 crore voters will vote at 23,284 polling stations to choose from among 298 candidates.A total of 53,959 Ballot Unit (BU), 23,284 Control units (CU), and 23,284 VVPATs are available. Campaigning for fourth phase will end Saturday 6 pm.
Chokkalingam said on May 7, in the third phase, when Raigad, Baramati, Dharashiv (Osmanabad), Latur, Solapur, Madha, Sangli, Satara, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, and Hatkanangle voted, an average 63.55 percent turnout was witnessed. Since the implementation of the code of conduct in the state, preventive action has been taken against 1,22,834 persons under the CRPC Act. In the state, 59.29 crores in cash and Rs. 45.72 crores worth of liquor were seized by various enforcement agencies of the central government and state governments in the period from March 1 to May 9, 2024. A total of Rs 614.14 crore, including precious metals worth Rs 162.40 crore, drugs worth Rs 244.59 crore, freebies worth Rs 0.47 crore, and Rs 101.66 crore under other items, has been
seized. The polls in the remaining 13 constituencies in the state will take place on May 20.
