Palwal: SP Palwal, Chander Mohan has said that all arrangements are in place to ensure transparency in the counting of votes after the Hathin Municipal Council elections on March 2. He told The Impressive Times that EVMs have been securely placed in the designated strong room at the Hathin Mini Secretariat. Armed state-level police forces and local police personnel have been deployed in shifts 24/7 to secure them. A DSP-rank police nodal officer has been appointed to guarantee a fair and transparent counting process. The counting is scheduled for March 12.

The SP Palwal explained that the security of the strong room has been arranged under a two-layer security system with modern weaponry. In the outermost security layer, local police have been deployed, while the inner security layer will be managed by state-level police forces (IRB). Only authorized personnel will be allowed to enter the counting center, and they will have to pass through high-level security checks. Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, and any objectionable items will be strictly prohibited inside the counting center. The orders issued under Section 163 of BNSS by the District Magistrate will be strictly enforced, and any violations will lead to strict action.

To handle any law and order situation, riot-control-equipped police forces will be stationed on-site. During the counting process, riders and PCR units will be patrolling to maintain law and order and ensure smooth traffic movement. Additional personnel will be deployed in the district control room to enhance communication efficiency. The officers will conduct regular inspections of the security personnel deployed under the two-layer security system. Only those authorized by the Election Commission will be allowed entry into the counting center premises. Additionally, a sufficient number of CCTV cameras have been installed to enhance security measures.
