New Delhi : On World Lion Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of those dedicated to lion conservation and protection. In his social media post, he emphasized that Gir Forest in Gujarat is home to a thriving lion population, which has seen a significant increase over the years.
He highlighted that earlier this year, the Union Cabinet endorsed the formation of the International Big Cat Alliance. This initiative aims to unite nations with big cat populations to promote a comprehensive strategy for sustainable development and support community-driven conservation efforts. The global response to this initiative has been notably positive.
