The Impressive TimesManipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has pledged to investigate the frequent landmine blasts along the Indo-Myanmar border in the state’s Kamjong district. This follows a report by Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing, who highlighted an incident on May 1, where two individuals traveling on a motorcycle were injured in a landmine explosion at Namlee along the Namlee-Mansa (Myanmar) road.
In response to a calling attention motion raised by Keishing during the 6th session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Singh assured that a comprehensive investigation would be conducted. The findings will be reported to the relevant ministries, including the Ministry of External Affairs, for appropriate action.
The investigation aims to address security concerns and implement necessary measures to prevent further incidents.
