Noida shines with 5-Star Cleanliness and Water Plus Certification

Noida, 6 Jan,2024–  Noida, the vibrant city in Uttar Pradesh, has clinched a prestigious 5-star ranking in the latest cleanliness survey along with Water Plus Certificate for the first time, marking a monumental achievement in the city’s commitment to cleanliness. On this achievement, Dr. Lokesh M, CEO of Noida Authority, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the residents, highlighting their collective effort in achieving success across all 24 indicators. He also appreciated dedicated officers and employees of the Public Health Department of Noida Authority, emphasizing their pivotal role in this success story. Looking ahead, CEO declared Noida’s readiness to aim for a stellar 7-star ranking in the GFC category in the 2024 cleanliness survey.

The Swachh Survekshan ranking, conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Government of India, has been a journey of progress for Noida. Noida has emerged as a beacon of cleanliness excellence, navigating its journey through different ranks in the population category of 3 lakh to 10 lakh. Starting at 324 in 2018, the city’s commitment to cleanliness propelled it to the impressive 150th rank in 2019, securing the top spot in Uttar Pradesh.

Notably, in the same year, Noida achieved a remarkable 3-star rating in the Garbage Free City and ODF++ categories. Building on this success, the city achieved the 25th rank in 2020, followed by a remarkable leap to the 4th position in 2021, earning the prestigious titles of Cleanest Medium City and 5-Star Garbage Free City. This continuous ascent showcased Noida’s dedication to enhancing its sanitation system and processing capacity. The culmination of these efforts was the city’s recognition as the Best Self Sustainable City, clinching the 5th rank in 2022. Noida Authority’s exemplary waste management practices, including separate collection and disposal through Door to Door Waste Collection Agency, as well as innovative methods like composting, bio-methanization, and recycling at the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Center, played a pivotal role in earning the coveted 5-star ranking in the Garbage Free City (GFC) Category.
