NABARD Inaugurates District Development Manager Office for Faridabad and Palwal

NABARD inaugurated its District Development Manager office in Faridabad to strengthen rural development, financial inclusion and banking initiatives in Faridabad and Palwal.

Faridabad, June 25: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) inaugurated the Residence-cum-Office (RCO) of its District Development Manager (DDM) in Faridabad on June 24, marking a significant step towards strengthening rural development initiatives in the region.

The office was inaugurated by  Nivedita Tiwary, Chief General Manager, NABARD Haryana Regional Office, in the presence of Rajesh Kumar Meena, Deputy General Manager, NABARD. The event was attended by representatives from various government departments, banks and development agencies.

The newly inaugurated office, headed by Harsha Dev, Assistant General Manager and District Development Manager, will coordinate and monitor NABARD’s developmental programmes across Faridabad and Palwal districts.

Speaking on the occasion,  Tiwary highlighted the important role played by District Development Managers in driving grassroots development and ensuring better coordination among government institutions, financial agencies and other stakeholders. She said NABARD’s initiatives in areas such as rural entrepreneurship, skill development, infrastructure creation and institutional strengthening are helping improve access to rural credit while promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.

She also emphasized that the bank’s interventions contribute significantly to women’s empowerment, livelihood generation and the socio-economic development of rural communities. Citing successful NABARD-supported projects in the district, she said effective project planning, combined with branding and marketing support, can greatly enhance the growth and sustainability of rural artisan enterprises.

An interactive discussion followed the inauguration, during which officials deliberated on key developmental and banking-related issues, including financial literacy, computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), Self-Help Group (SHG)-Bank Linkage and community mobilization.

After the programme, the Chief General Manager and other NABARD officials visited a development project in the district that has been supported by the bank to review its implementation and progress.
