Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat Lead Medal Tally at Inaugural Indian Pickleball Nationals 2025

The first-ever officially recognised Pickleball Nationals sees Maharashtra dominate, Karnataka and Gujarat close behind, as over 1,800 matches conclude in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) — The fourth and final day of the Indian Pickleball Nationals 2025 delivered yet another round of high-intensity action at The Sports School, Bengaluru, as top states continued to battle for supremacy in the medal standings.

According to a press release, Maharashtra currently leads the medals tally with three gold and five silver medals, maintaining a strong overall performance. Karnataka follows closely with three golds and one silver, while Gujarat has also secured three gold medals. Telangana holds two golds and one silver, marking an impressive showing.

States including West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Rajasthan have each earned two medals, while Goa and Assam have also registered a win apiece. With several medal rounds still underway, the championship is set for an intense finish.

One of the standout moments in the women’s categories came in the Open Women’s Doubles Final, where Naomi Amalsadiwala and Pearl Amalsadiwala delivered a dominant performance, defeating Monica Menon and Sharmada Balu with a commanding 15-1 scoreline.

In the 40+ Mixed Doubles Final, the duo of Ranjith Sarvanan and Kamini Murugaboopathy defeated Shilpa Sham and Avilay Jha with a convincing 15-6 victory. Tamil Nadu showed exceptional depth in the senior divisions, particularly in the 70+ Men’s Doubles, where Naharaj Subramanian and S.L. Rajiv Reddy topped their group of five pairs through consistent, tactical play to claim the title.

The inaugural Indian Pickleball Nationals is a milestone event, marking the first official national championship since the sport’s recognition by the National Sports Federation (NSF). With more than 1,800 matches contested across interstate team events and open national categories, and participation from over 20 states, the tournament highlights the sport’s rapid growth and expanding competitive landscape in India.
