Faridabad lights up with 15-Foot ‘Asha Deep’ on Diwali, symbolizing hope and unity

Faridabad: On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Faridabad witnessed the unveiling and lighting of a magnificent 15-foot tall ‘Asha Deep’ (Lamp of Hope), acclaimed as the world’s largest sustainable lamp.

Constructed from recycled ghee and oil tins, the Asha Deep represents renewal, positivity, and new beginnings, reflecting Diwali’s true spirit of light triumphing over darkness, knowledge overcoming ignorance, and hope defeating despair.

The lamp symbolizes that both the young and elderly can contribute to building greatness. The grand lighting ceremony was held at Labour Chowk, Faridabad, in the presence of Haryana Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel. The event illuminated the city with a message of unity, harmony, and hope. Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel said that Diwali represents the victory of light over darkness, truth over falsehood, and hope over despair, and spreading this light across society gives the festival its true meaning. Local residents, women, youth, and members of various organizations attended the ceremony in large numbers.

The slogans “Deep Jalao, Asha Badhao” (Light Lamps, Spread Hope) echoed through the venue, creating a festive atmosphere. The 15-foot lamp, crafted from recycled materials, highlighted a unique blend of tradition and environmental consciousness. The celebration also featured bhajan performances, cultural presentations, and community lamp offerings, conveying messages of love, brotherhood, and positivity. Citizens praised the initiative, calling it not just a Diwali celebration, but a symbol of the spirit of the new India and the hope of a brighter future.
