Outer District Police Reviews Civic and Law-and-Order Issues at District Committee Meeting

New Delhi: A District Level Committee meeting was held at the Conference Hall of Pitampura Police Lines in Outer District to review public safety, civic concerns and police-community coordination.

The meeting was chaired by Yogender Chandoliya, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), along with Gajender Drall, MLA, Mundka Constituency. Senior Outer District Police officers, including DCP Vikram Singh, IPS, and Additional DCP-I Manoj Kumar Meena, attended the meeting along with all ACPs and SHOs of the district.

Representatives from different sections of the community also participated. The committee included 29 co-opted members representing business associations, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), JJ clusters, industrial establishments, educational institutions, social workers and other civic stakeholders.

During the meeting, the DCP briefed the committee on the status of issues raised during the previous meeting and reviewed the action taken on them.

The Outer District Police also highlighted its community policing initiatives, including the activities of the Shishtachar Squad, with a particular focus on awareness related to the safety of women and children.

The squad has been conducting awareness programmes at public locations such as bus stops, buses, schools, parks and other community spaces.

Police officials further informed the committee that surveys were being conducted to identify encroachments and other civic-related problems in the district.

The meeting stressed the need for stronger cooperation between the police and local communities. Greater participation of RWA representatives and other community members was encouraged to improve communication and address issues affecting residents.

A dedicated platform for senior citizens was also proposed to provide them with opportunities for regular interaction with the police, share feedback and discuss welfare-related concerns.

MP Yogender Chandoliya underlined the importance of coordination between police, civic agencies and committee members to resolve local problems effectively and improve public safety.

During the discussions, committee members brought several local concerns to the attention of the authorities. These included encroachments by rehri and patri markets, traffic congestion and parking-related problems, among other civic and law-and-order issues.

The meeting ended with an emphasis on collaborative policing and greater community participation. Senior police officers assured the committee that the concerns raised during the meeting would be taken up for time-bound and effective action.

The Outer District Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order, improving public safety and strengthening citizen-oriented policing through continued engagement with the community.
