Delhi Police Conducts Cyber Awareness Drive for 331 Senior Citizens Under ‘WE CARE’ Initiative

New Delhi : Continuing the community outreach to ensure the digital well-being and safety of the elderly, PMMC Unit of Delhi Police successfully conducted a series of comprehensive cyber awareness sessions across various districts in the national capital over the weekend on 19^th and 20^th September, 2026.

Organised under ‘WE CARE’ initiative of the Delhi Police, these weekend sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 331 senior citizens across different locations.

The primary objective of this intensive weekend drive was to sensitise the elderly—who are frequently targeted by fraudsters—about the latest trends in cybercrime and financial frauds like phishing scams, identity theft and digital arrest frauds. During the interaction, specialized teams from local Police Stations educated the participants on cyber practices, cautioning against clicking on unverified links, protecting data like OTPs and UPI PINs, and utilizing the National Cyber Crime Helpline Number (1930) to report financial fraud promptly.

The widespread drive was conducted across 24 Police Stations covering 13 districts throughout the capital to ensure maximum community coverage. Prominent turnouts included 50 senior citizens at PS Dwarka South, 56 across the East District (PS Kalyan Puri, Gazipur, and New Ashok Nagar), 35 at PS Shahbad Dairy, and 20 at PS Model Town . The New Delhi District successfully engaged citizens across 7 locations including PS Bara Khambha, Tilak Marg, and Tuglak Road, while the West District organized drives at PS Janakpuri, Khayala, Punjabi Bagh, and Inderpuri. Similar sessions were also conducted at PS Nihal Vihar, DBG Road, KN Katju Marg, MS Park, Roop Nagar, Jamia Nagar, and Palam Vihar

Senior citizens were urged to remain vigilant during online interactions and were encouraged to share the preventive measures within their families and neighborhoods. The participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Delhi Police for organizing these timely and interactive sessions.
