Bikaner, June 21, 2026: Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw along with Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal participated in a large-scale yoga session at Karni Singh Stadium in Bikaner on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, spreading the message of health, wellness and mindful living.
The event witnessed participation from a large number of citizens, including school students, youth, women, social organisation representatives and government officials. Participants performed various yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation practices under the guidance of trained instructors.
Addressing the gathering, Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted yoga as one of India’s most valuable contributions to global wellness. He said that the ancient practice has gained worldwide recognition and is being adopted by people across countries as a way to improve physical fitness and mental wellbeing.
The Union Minister stated that yoga is not limited to exercise but represents a complete approach towards a healthy lifestyle. He said regular yoga practice helps improve strength, flexibility and concentration while also reducing stress and promoting positive thinking.
He encouraged people to include yoga in their daily routines, saying that a healthier population contributes to a stronger and more developed nation.
Arjun Ram Meghwal described yoga as an integral part of India’s cultural and philosophical heritage. He said that the principles of yoga teach discipline, self-control and balance, which are essential for both individual growth and social progress.
The Minister emphasised that a healthy body and a peaceful mind are important foundations for building a prosperous society. He urged citizens to adopt yoga as a regular habit to improve their quality of life.
