Operation Vishwas: North-West Delhi Police Recover 1007 Lost and Stolen Mobile Phones, Return Them to Citizens

During the two-month-long operation, all police stations of North-West District contributed to the recovery effort.

New Delhi : In a significant citizen-centric initiative aimed at strengthening public trust and enhancing service delivery, North-West District Police launched a special drive under “Operation Vishwas” on 25 March 2026 to trace, recover, and return lost/stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners.

The operation was carried out in a systematic and sustained manner across all Police Stations of North-West District. Dedicated police teams, working in close coordination with technical resources, field intelligence, telecom service providers, and the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) team, undertook extensive efforts to track and recover missing mobile devices. The CEIR platform played a vital role in tracing, blocking, and unblocking mobile phones, significantly contributing to the success of the drive.

As a result of these coordinated efforts, 1007 lost/stolen mobile phones were successfully recovered within a period of just two months. Among all Police Stations, PS Mahendra Park and PS Mukherjee Nagar emerged as the top-performing units, making outstanding contributions by recovering the highest number of mobile phones through persistent technical and field efforts.
The recovered mobile phones were returned to their rightful owners by the concerned police staff. The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation and gratitude towards the police teams for their dedication, professionalism, and prompt action in restoring their valuable belongings.

The success of Operation Vishwas reflects the commitment of North-West District Police towards technology-driven, responsive, and citizen-friendly policing. The initiative has not only provided relief to hundreds of citizens but has also strengthened public confidence in the policing system.
