Haryana Land Fraud Case: Man Held for Forgery and Illegal Plot Grab in Faridabad

Accused allegedly used fake documents and backdated agreements to claim disputed property; police probe ongoing.

Faridabad– A man has been arrested in Haryana’s Faridabad district for allegedly grabbing a plot using forged documents, police officials said on Wednesday.

The accused, identified as Aman Goyal, was taken into custody on Tuesday night following an investigation into a long-running property dispute in Sector 35.

According to police, the case involves a plot purchased by complainant Mala Sharma, a resident of Delhi, who had obtained the property through proper registration from its original owner. However, she later discovered that the same land had also been sold to the accused.

Officials said that while Sharma possessed the original registry documents, Goyal had allegedly relied on a certified copy to claim ownership. The situation became more complicated after the original owner passed away during the dispute.

The matter escalated when Goyal reportedly attempted to take possession of the land, prompting Sharma to approach the courts. Police said multiple courts, including higher judicial authorities, ruled in her favour over the years.

Despite favourable court orders, the complainant allegedly continued to face harassment and threats. She later approached the police, claiming that the accused tried to intimidate her by asserting political connections.

An FIR was registered at Sarai Khwaja police station, and during the investigation, officials found that a backdated agreement had been created to support the accused’s claim. The document, prepared recently, was allegedly shown as having been executed earlier to mislead authorities.

Police said the accused will be produced before a court for remand, and further investigation is underway to identify any other individuals involved in the alleged fraud.
