‘Midnight Nightmare in Juhu’: Urvashi Dholakia Calls Out Alleged Illegal Construction Linked to Asit Modi

Actor claims sleepless nights and civic violations, questions authorities over inaction

Mumbai: Television actor Urvashi Dholakia has voiced strong concerns over ongoing late-night construction activity in Mumbai’s Juhu area, describing the situation as deeply distressing for local residents.

In a series of social media posts, she alleged that construction work at a property associated with Asit Kumar Modi, known for producing Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been continuing beyond permitted hours and causing significant disruption.

Dholakia claimed that the construction activity has extended late into the night for several days, leading to constant noise from machinery and movement of materials. She also alleged that a road in the area was blocked without proper authorisation, further adding to residents’ inconvenience.

Expressing frustration, she accused those involved of prioritising their work over the well-being of people living nearby and said she would continue to raise the issue publicly.

The actor pointed out that construction in residential zones is subject to specific time restrictions, which, according to her, are not being followed. She highlighted the impact on families, elderly residents, and working individuals who are unable to rest due to the disturbance.

Dholakia also shared her experience of attempting to seek help, stating that repeated calls to emergency services in the early hours did not result in any immediate response. She expressed concern over the lack of timely intervention, questioning how authorities would respond in more serious situations.

Urging officials to step in, she called for stricter enforcement of rules, reduction of noise pollution, and protection of residents’ right to a peaceful environment.

Her statements have once again drawn attention to broader issues of civic accountability and enforcement of construction norms in urban residential areas.
