UP Government Revises Wage Rates for Workers in Noida and Ghaziabad Amid Ongoing Protests

Revised pay structure aims to address labour concerns in industrial belt

Noida, April 14, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a revision in minimum wages for workers in Noida and Ghaziabad, increasing monthly pay to Rs 13,690 for unskilled labourers and Rs 16,868 for skilled workers.

The decision comes amid ongoing protests in industrial areas, where workers had been demanding higher wages and better working conditions. The move is seen as an effort by the state administration to ease tensions and respond to long standing concerns raised by labour groups.

Officials indicated that the revised wage structure reflects a significant increase compared to earlier rates and is intended to provide relief in the face of rising living costs. The hike is part of a broader attempt to improve income levels and ensure fair compensation across categories of workers.

Recent unrest in Noida’s industrial zones had drawn attention to disparities in wages, particularly in comparison with neighbouring states. The revision is expected to help bridge this gap and restore stability in key manufacturing hubs.

Labour related protests had intensified in recent days, with workers highlighting issues such as low pay, lack of benefits and delayed payments. The government’s intervention is aimed at addressing these grievances while maintaining industrial productivity and order.
