Dr. Shivam Sharma Assumes Charge as Senior Divisional Operations Manager (Sr. DOM), Prayagraj

Prayagraj : In a major administrative reshuffle in North Central Railway, Dr. Shivam Sharma has once again been appointed as Senior Divisional Operations Manager (Sr. DOM) of Prayagraj Division and has taken charge today.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Shivam Sharma had earlier served as Sr. DOM, Prayagraj in 2023, before being selected on deputation as Director in the Sports Authority of India (SAI). During his nearly three-year tenure with SAI, he served as Director at the National Institute of Sports, Patiala, and was subsequently promoted as Regional Director of the Northern Regional Centre at Sonipat. During this period, he successfully implemented several sports promotion initiatives in the state of Haryana. Dr. Sharma was also part of the official Indian delegation during the Paris Olympics 2024.

Dr. Shivam Sharma is an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 2011 batch and holds a degree in Dental Surgery from Aligarh Muslim University. He is regarded as a dynamic and result-oriented officer in North Central Railway.

During his career, he has held several key positions including Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) and Deputy Chief Claims Officer, gaining extensive administrative experience. For his contribution towards the establishment of the Railway Claims Tribunal in Prayagraj, he was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Chairman of the Principal Bench of the Tribunal.

His tenure as Divisional Traffic Manager (DTM), Tundla (2015–2017) was marked by notable achievements, including the execution of important traffic facility works at major stations such as Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Khurja, and Dadri.

With Dr. Shivam Sharma’s return to Prayagraj Division, it is expected that train operations will gain further momentum and railway sportspersons will also receive a boost.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Sr. DOM, Shri Akanshu Govil, has been appointed as Deputy Chief Traffic Manager (Dy. CTM), Kanpur.
