New Delhi, March 21, 2024– In light of the festive spirit surrounding Holi, Indian Railways has announced the operation of 540 train services, aimed at facilitating smooth and comfortable travel for passengers across the nation. This initiative represents a significant increase compared to last year, with 219 more services added to cater to the surge in demand during this joyous occasion.
These train services have been strategically planned to connect major destinations across the country via railway routes. Among the notable routes are Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Saharsa, Gorakhpur-Mumbai, Kolkata-Puri, Guwahati-Ranchi, New Delhi-Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Jaipur-Bandra Terminus, Pune-Danapur, Durg-Patna, and Barauni-Surat, among others.
To ensure the efficient management of crowds, especially at major stations, Indian Railways has implemented various crowd control measures. This includes the formation of queues at terminus stations under the supervision of Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff to facilitate orderly entry of passengers into unreserved coaches.
Moreover, additional RPF personnel have been deployed at key stations to enhance passenger security. Officers are also stationed on Emergency Duty at major stations to oversee the smooth operation of trains. Furthermore, staff have been strategically positioned in various sections to promptly address any disruptions in train services.
In addition to crowd management, efforts have been made to provide timely information to passengers. This includes frequent and timely announcements of train arrivals and departures, along with platform numbers, to ensure a seamless travel experience for all.
As the nation celebrates the vibrant festival of Holi, Indian Railways remains committed to providing reliable and efficient transportation services, thereby facilitating joyful journeys for passengers across the country.
