Faridabad: In pursuance of the Supreme Court’s directive dated November 7, 2024, the Haryana Government has issued a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to regulate the inspection of firearms and ammunition manufacturing units and intensify action against unlawful arms operations across the State. Accordingly, a district-level committee has been established within the Faridabad Police Commissionerate under the chairmanship of Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Rajesh Duggal.
The committee will undertake periodic inspections of licensed arms factories and workshops to ensure compliance with statutory norms, while also identifying and initiating stringent legal proceedings against individuals or entities engaged in the illicit manufacture, possession, or trafficking of weapons.
Highlighting the importance of community partnership in maintaining law and order, JCP Rajesh Duggal appealed to the citizens of Faridabad to share credible information regarding any unauthorised arms activities in their vicinity. Such inputs may be reported to the nearest police station, through Dial 112, or via the Police Control Room at 9999150000.
He assured that the identity of informants will be treated with utmost confidentiality, reaffirming the Commissionerate’s commitment to collective security and the eradication of illegal arms networks in the district.
