New Delhi, 17 September 2025 – Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah conveyed heartfelt greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, praising the Prime Minister’s lifetime of service and transformative leadership.
Sharing a series of messages on X, Shah described the Prime Minister as “a symbol of sacrifice and dedication” whose public life of over five decades embodies the spirit of Nation First. From his early years as a Sangh pracharak and party worker to his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister and now more than eleven years as India’s Prime Minister, Modi, he said, has always placed the nation’s interest above personal considerations.
Amit Shah highlighted how PM Modi has brought integrity to governance, clarity to policy, and firmness to decision-making, ensuring that marginalised communities—including women, tribal groups, the poor and the backward classes—remain at the heart of government programmes. He noted that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, regions once thought beyond the reach of development now boast world-class infrastructure, from the longest bridge in Assam to the Chenab Railway Bridge in Kashmir, as well as semiconductor plants and a robust digital payments ecosystem where even street vendors use UPI.
According to Shah, India’s economic rise—from the world’s 11th-largest economy to the fourth-largest—has been accompanied by unprecedented poverty reduction, with an estimated 600 million people moving out of poverty. He credited the Modi government with proving that rapid economic growth and welfare of the poor can advance together, making India a “bright spot” in the global economy.
Calling the Prime Minister a “problem-solving leader,” the Home Minister emphasised that in a world marked by conflicts and shifting alliances, Modi has become a vital bridge for international dialogue. He noted that 27 nations have honoured the Prime Minister with their highest civilian awards, a reflection of his global stature.
Shah also pointed to achievements such as the Chandrayaan landing at the Moon’s south pole, breakthroughs in ocean research at Dwarka, indigenous COVID-19 vaccines, home-grown defence systems, and support for startups and farmers. These accomplishments, he said, underline the Prime Minister’s vision of a truly self-reliant India.
Concluding his message, the Home Minister described Modi as “the embodiment of sacrifice, discipline, and unwavering dedication to the nation,” adding that the entire country is proud to celebrate his 75th birthday.
