Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, continues its slow but steady run at the box office. On its fifth day, the romantic drama collected ₹1.52 crore, taking its total domestic earnings to ₹14.27 crore (India net), according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
Despite receiving positive reviews for its performances and storytelling, the film has struggled to gain strong momentum. On Tuesday, August 5, the movie recorded an overall Hindi 2D occupancy of 21.15%. Morning shows began at 13.70%, picked up to 28.60% in the afternoon, and peaked at 32.07% in the evening before seeing a drop later in the night.
In terms of regional performance, the National Capital Region (NCR) led with 35% occupancy across 343 shows. Chennai showed a strong 44% despite limited screenings. Jaipur also posted decent numbers at 30.5%. Other key cities like Mumbai (22%) and Pune (21.5%) reflected average performance, while Hyderabad, Surat, and Ahmedabad showed weaker turnout with single-digit occupancies.
Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Dhadak 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak. The film explores inter-caste romance and social discrimination, inspired by the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal.
As the film heads into its second weekend, all eyes are on whether word-of-mouth and steady footfall can push the film’s box office fortunes further.
