Brasilia, July: In a historic diplomatic gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with Brazil’s highest civilian honour, The Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross, by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The award ceremony took place during PM Modi’s official visit to Brazil following the successful conclusion of the BRICS 2025 Summit.
This prestigious accolade marks a milestone in the growing India-Brazil strategic partnership, recognizing the Prime Minister’s exceptional role in strengthening bilateral ties across trade, technology, sustainability, and global diplomacy.
Accepting the honour, Prime Minister Modi expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Lula, the Government of Brazil, and its people.
