Faridabad, July 9: Under the banner of the Shree Yamuna Jal Jan Jagran Abhiyan, Dr. R.N. Singh, National Executive President of Yamuna Rakshak Dal, met C.B. Rawal, Chairman of Rawal Educational Societies, and his wife at their residence in Sector 9, Faridabad. The meeting aimed to discuss the urgent need to restore the uninterrupted flow and cleanliness of River Yamuna.
As a mark of respect and spiritual solidarity, Dr. Singh honoured the Rawal couple with a traditional “Radhe-Radhe” shawl. He also presented them with holy water from River Yamuna, sourced directly from Hathini Kund, and a calendar featuring Yamuna Aarti, symbolizing the river’s religious and cultural significance.
During the discussion, Dr. Singh voiced strong concerns regarding the absence of Yamuna water in its natural course beyond Hathini Kund. He termed this not just a religious and ecological tragedy, but also a gross violation of human rights and natural justice.
He criticized both the central and state governments for their continued insensitivity and inaction toward the condition of the river. Dr. Singh highlighted that the Braj region, including Faridabad and Palwal, has been particularly affected and continues to suffer due to the depletion and pollution of the Yamuna.
With no significant policy changes or restoration efforts in sight, Dr. Singh stated that the Yamuna Rakshak Dal has no choice but to initiate a large-scale public awareness movement. He stressed that only mass mobilisation and collective citizen action can compel authorities to take concrete steps for the protection and revival of the sacred river.
The Rawal couple extended their blessings and support to Dr. Singh and his mission. They appreciated his dedication to the Yamuna cause and expressed hope that the efforts under Yamuna Jal Jan Jagran Abhiyan would awaken the conscience of society and the leadership alike.
