Faridabad , 12 November , 2024 – In Faridabad, the renowned industrialist, S.S. Banga, CMD of Viktora Industries, acclaimed as the “Tree Man,” organized a unique celebration on his birthday to raise awareness about the environment. He led a “Tree Parade” in his factories with employees, promoting enthusiasm for tree planting. In order to make the event more than a formality, it was celebrated as a festival, with employees and officials planting trees together.
New Project “Butterfly: Slum Bridge Education” Launched:
On his birthday, S.S. Banga, in collaboration with Viktora Life Foundation and Lakshyam NGO, initiated an education drive for slum children living under the Neelam Flyover in Faridabad. These children, deprived of education due to financial constraints, will now have a chance to learn. Volunteers will seek permission from their parents to educate them and help integrate their families into mainstream society. Along with education, these children will also learn moral values and cultural heritage. The project, named “Butterfly,” identified 50 children whose families received counseling, along with blankets and water bottles, as a first step toward this new journey of education and upliftment.
Festive Atmosphere in All Units:
At Viktora Industries in sectors 25 and 58, employees celebrated S.S. Banga’s birthday by marching to a vacant park to plant trees while dancing to drumbeats after finishing their work. They cleaned and decorated the area with rangolis and balloons, creating a festive environment. Together with locals, they planted Peepal, Banyan, Neem, Amla, and Guava trees. Employees also planted Belpatra, Jamun, Peepal, Banyan, Neem, Amla, and Ashok trees. The “Tree Parade” was conducted across all units of Viktora Industries, including Radisson Blu Hotel in Greater Noida, Juna Mahal Hotel in Ranthambore, and units in Faridabad, Pune, and Gujarat, where trees were planted on roofs, in parking areas, and in open spaces, with everyone pledging to preserve them. Social organizations have welcomed this unique initiative.
