Union Minister Chouhan Pledges Support for Chhattisgarh’s Development in Key Meeting

New Delhi, July 26, 2024: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma met with Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Krishi Bhavan in New Delhi today.

The meeting focused on various development schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Union Minister Chouhan reiterated the Modi government’s commitment to providing housing and road development for every poor resident in Chhattisgarh. He emphasized that the Central and State Governments will collaborate to complete various public welfare projects in the state. Chouhan assured that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), no poor individual in the state would be deprived of housing, with the Central Government already allocating sufficient funds for these initiatives. The State Government, he said, would utilize these funds effectively.

Furthermore, Chouhan highlighted the Central Government’s efforts to expedite road construction under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, particularly in the remote areas of Chhattisgarh. He emphasized the commitment to work swiftly on rural road proposals in partnership with the State Government. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both central and state administrations, including Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Rural Development Ministry.
