Jammu, July 27 2024 : Jammu and Kashmir Police have released sketches of three terrorists involved in the recent attack in Doda district that resulted in the deaths of four soldiers, including an army captain. In a bid to capture the perpetrators, the police have announced a cash reward of Rs 15 lakh for information leading to their arrest.
The terrorists, identified as being active in the upper reaches of Doda, particularly in the Dessa forest area, were responsible for the gunfight on July 16 that claimed the lives of the soldiers. The police spokesperson revealed that a reward of Rs 5 lakh is being offered for each of the three terrorists.

The Doda district has experienced a surge in terror-related incidents since June, a situation security agencies attribute to efforts by Pakistan-based handlers to reintroduce terrorism in the region. In addition to the recent attack, separate incidents between June 12 and July 18 have resulted in injuries to at least 10 security personnel at locations including Chattergalla Pass, Gandoh, Kastigarh, and Ghadi Bagwah forest.
Notably, three terrorists were killed in a day-long operation in the Gandoh area on June 26. The ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Doda highlight the increasing challenges faced by security forces in the region.
