MP State President and Veteran BJP Leader Prabhat Jha Passes Away at 67

Senior BJP figure and former Rajya Sabha MP dies after prolonged illness; tributes pour in from political leaders.

Bhopal July 26 2024 : Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prabhat Jha has passed away at the age of 67 following a prolonged illness. Jha, who breathed his last at a Delhi hospital on Friday morning, was a significant figure in Madhya Pradesh politics, having served as the state BJP president and a Rajya Sabha MP.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed deep sorrow over Jha’s demise through a message on X (formerly Twitter). Yadav remarked, “The news of former state BJP president and senior leader Prabhat Jha’s passing is deeply saddening. May Baba Mahakal grant peace to his soul and provide strength to his family in this time of grief. His contributions to the development of Madhya Pradesh will continue to inspire. Om Shanti!”

BJP state president VD Sharma and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also extended their condolences. Sharma stated, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of senior BJP leader and former state president Prabhat Jha. May God grant peace to his soul and strength to his family to endure this loss. Om Shanti!”

Dhami highlighted Jha’s prominent roles, noting, “Prabhat Jha’s passing is a significant loss to the political world. I pray for his soul’s peace and for the bereaved family to find the strength to cope with this loss. Humble tribute!”

Prabhat Jha was born on June 4, 1957, in Hariharpur, Darbhanga district, Bihar. He served as the BJP’s Madhya Pradesh president from 2010 to 2012 and was elected as a Rajya Sabha member from the state in 2008.
