Shimla, July 25 2024 : A delegation of Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HPAS) officers, led by President Shravan Manta, met with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday to discuss ongoing government reforms aimed at improving service quality for the state’s residents. During the meeting, the Chief Minister underscored the crucial role HPAS officers play in implementing these reforms, with a particular emphasis on education, health, and tourism.
Chief Minister Sukhu identified education and health as the primary focus areas for the state government, highlighting the potential for significant improvements in these sectors to benefit the public. He called on HPAS officers to demonstrate dedication and diligence in meeting the expectations of Himachal Pradesh’s citizens.
The HPAS Association assured the Chief Minister of their full cooperation in effectively executing the state’s policies and programs. Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, and other association office bearers were also present at the meeting.
In addition to reforms, Chief Minister Sukhu discussed initiatives to boost tourism by connecting all district headquarters with heliports. “To promote tourism in Himachal Pradesh, we have initiated efforts to connect all district headquarters with heliports. Our government aims to elevate Himachal Pradesh as the most beautiful state in the country from a tourism perspective,” he stated.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the upcoming international paragliding event at Bir Billing, which is expected to attract participants from numerous countries between November 2 and 9, further enhancing tourism in the region.
Additionally, Chief Minister Sukhu criticized the Union Budget for not allocating funds to address the recent flood disaster in Himachal Pradesh, asserting that the state should have received Rs 9,000 crores under the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA).
