Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reviewed the flood situation in the state yesterday. Speaking to the media, Health Minister Rushikesh Patel stated that the government is closely monitoring the situation. He mentioned that over 4,200 people have been relocated to safer areas across seven districts, and 535 individuals have been rescued. The death toll from rain-related incidents has increased to 61, with eight deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
A total of 13 NDRF teams and 20 SDRF teams have been deployed in flood-affected regions of the state. Due to heavy rainfall in catchment areas, nearly 46 dams are overflowing, and 51 dams are on high alert. Power supply has been restored in over 5,000 villages. An orange alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
