Amaravati July 23 2024 : Leaders from Andhra Pradesh, including Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, have expressed their appreciation for the Union Budget 2024-25, highlighting its support for the state’s development needs. They thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for allocating ₹15,000 crore to fund crucial projects in the state.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, also the TDP National President, praised the budget for addressing key priorities in Andhra Pradesh. He stated, “On behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, I extend my gratitude to Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji and Finance Minister @nsitharaman Ji for recognizing our state’s needs in the Union Budget. This support will significantly aid in rebuilding Andhra Pradesh.” Naidu commended the budget as a forward-thinking financial plan that boosts confidence.
Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu also welcomed the budget, acknowledging PM Modi’s commitment to Andhra Pradesh, which has been without a capital for the past five years. He emphasized that the budget provisions focus on job creation and industrial development.
However, some opposition leaders have criticized the budget allocations for Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, claiming they are politically motivated to strengthen the BJP’s government, which relies on support from TDP and JD(U) for stability.
The budget includes a significant allocation for the Polavaram project, a vital initiative to ensure irrigation and food security in the state. Finance Minister Sitharaman reiterated the Centre’s commitment to fulfilling promises made under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, providing substantial financial support for ongoing and future projects in the state.
