Bihar: Vidhan Sabha was adjourned until 12 noon amidst noisy scenes and protests from Opposition Grand Alliance members

In Bihar, the Vidhan Sabha was adjourned until 12 noon today due to noisy scenes and protests from Opposition Grand Alliance members regarding the special status issue for Bihar. This disruption occurred on the second day of the monsoon session of the state legislature.

When the House convened at 11 am, opposition members moved into the well of the House, demanding a response from the state government on the special status matter. They were seen holding placards and banners, chanting slogans against the state government.

Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav repeatedly urged the agitating members to return to their seats, but these appeals were ignored. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary stated that the government was prepared to address the issue but requested that the opposition raise their demands from their respective seats rather than from the well of the House. Despite this, the opposition members continued their protests, leading the Speaker to adjourn the House until 12 noon.
