The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab. It was noted by IMD that the Southwest Monsoon had covered the entire country six days before the normal date. The forecast states that light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected in the northwest and central parts of the country during the next four days. Very heavy rainfall is anticipated today in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat. Heavy rainfall is expected today in Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. The northeastern part of the country is also expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next four days.
