First one-day international of India’s three-match series against Sri Lanka will be played in Colombo

In cricket, India and Sri Lanka will play the first One Day International of their three-match series in Colombo today. The match is set to begin at 02:30 PM at R. Premadasa Stadium. Fans will see star Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back in action in the blue jersey. The squad, led by Rohit Sharma, aims for another clean sweep after the young Indian team defeated the hosts 3-0 in the recently held T20 series.

This will be Team India’s first ODI match of 2024.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is returning to the ODIs after nearly two years. It remains to be seen whether he will directly replace KL Rahul or wait his turn. India might also give the uncapped pacer Harshit Rana a chance in the playing eleven. Fans are eagerly awaiting Virat Kohli’s performance, as he boasts significant batting figures in Colombo, averaging over a hundred with four centuries. However, rain might impact the first match of the series, and if it does, wet outfields could lead to a low-scoring encounter.
