New Delhi , 30 April, 2024 : Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railways held a pivotal performance review meeting with the departmental heads of Northern Railway and DRMs. The meeting, which took place at Baroda House focused on enhancing safety protocols and ensuring the highest standards of safety for both employees and passengers.
During the meeting, Sh. Chaudhuri emphasized the Northern Railway unwavering commitment to safety and highlighted the importance of continually reviewing and improving safety measures. The officers in attendance actively engaged in discussions on current safety procedures, potential risks, and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
Key topics addressed during the meeting included emergency response protocols, employee training initiatives, maintenance schedules, and the implementation of new safety technologies. The GM emphasized that, visual examination and lubrication of rail joints and welds should also be completed on priority. He also instructed that night patrolling inspections should be enhanced. Status of maintenance of track, welds of joints and signaling systems discussed in detail. He also reviewed the status of various important construction projects of Doubling and New lines and directed officials to expedite the work.
GM took stock of detention of trains due to crew change at crew changing points and instructed the divisions to implement crew changing within shortage possible time so that the delay of trains on account of crew changing can be minimized. He also instructed the department heads and DRMs, to maintain the punctuality and keep pace for freight loading with safety as priority.
