Vidya Sagar International School Secures Gold Medal by Defeating Jind Team

Faridabad , 16 September , 2024- Vidya Sagar International School has won the gold medal in the (Under 14) State School Games for fencing. This competition saw participation from teams representing approximately 16 districts in the state. For nearly a decade, the team from Jind had been the top contender, but this time, Vidya Sagar International School broke the 10-year winning streak to claim the gold medal. The competition was organized by the Haryana Education Department at Shiv Nadar School.

Following this achievement, a grand welcome ceremony was held at Vidya Sagar International School to honor the gold medal-winning team. The players were greeted with flower garlands and a band at the school gate before being led to the stage where the ceremony took place. The school celebrated the victory with great enthusiasm.

Director Deepak Yadav of Vidya Sagar International School mentioned that students Anshika, Tanul, and Yashika won the gold medal in fencing, and the ceremony was organized to recognize their accomplishment. The competition was initially held at the district level in Sector 31, Faridabad, where three students from Vidya Sagar International School and one from Shiv Nadar School were selected. They then competed in the state championship, with two students from class 8 and one from class 9 participating.

On this joyous occasion, the students and their coach were awarded incentive prizes. Deepak Yadav highlighted that the school has consistently made its mark not only in academics but also in district, state, and inter-state competitions. The event was attended by the school’s Senior Coordinator Renu, Junior Coordinator Neha Sharma, Kindergarten teacher Rama Kajal, and fencing academy coach Kishan Sharma.
