DSGMC to launch Gurmat camps for Youth from June 1: Harmeet Singh Kalka

The concluding function of the fifth Gurmat camp will be held on June 20-21 at the historic Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib.

New Delhi May 26, 2026 : President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Harmeet Singh Kalka, announced here today during a press conference that the DSGMC will organise its annual Gurmat camps from June 1 to June 19 across historic Gurdwaras and Singh Sabhas in Delhi. The concluding function of the fifth Gurmat camp will be held on June 20-21 at the historic Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib.

He stated that the primary aim of the DSGMC is to promote and propagate sikhism while connecting the younger generation with Gurbani, GurSikhi, the Punjabi language, and the rich heritage of the sikh community. He described the initiative as an important step towards strengthening cultural and spiritual values among sikh youth.

S. Kalka informed that when the camps were launched four years ago, around 4,000 students participated. The number gradually increased to 12,000 and then 16,000, while nearly 20,000 children attended the camps last year. This year, the DSGMC expects participation from nearly 25,000 students.

During the camps, students will receive training in Gurmukhi, Sikh history, the GurSikh way of life, and the teachings of the Guru Sahiban. Special books related to sikh history will also be distributed among participants.

He further said that more than 1,000 volunteers are actively associated with the DSGMC and are contributing wholeheartedly towards the success of this religious initiative.
