Gautam Buddha Nagar April 14 2026: The Gautam Buddha Nagar district administration has issued a strong warning to outsourcing agencies and contractors following recent incidents of worker unrest in the region, stating that strict action will be taken against those found inciting violence or violating labour norms.
District Magistrate Medha Roopam said that any outsourcing agency or contractor found responsible for encouraging or failing to control violent behaviour among workers will face joint accountability. She warned that such entities may be blacklisted and their licenses could be cancelled in case of serious violations.

The DM reviewed the situation in a meeting with outsourcing agencies and contractors of industrial units held in her office. She instructed all contractors to strictly ensure payment of wages as per government guidelines and emphasized that both workers’ rights and employers’ interests must be protected to maintain industrial stability.
Officials informed that the Uttar Pradesh government has fixed minimum monthly wages at ₹13,690 for unskilled workers, ₹15,059 for semi skilled workers and ₹16,868 for skilled workers. The DM directed that wages must be transferred directly into workers’ bank accounts and full compliance must be ensured without exception.
She further stated that strict action will be taken against any agency violating wage rules or engaging in worker exploitation. Authorities also urged contractors to maintain industrial harmony, avoid misinformation, and ensure smooth functioning of industrial operations across the district.
Senior district officials and representatives from various industrial units attended the meeting, where the administration reiterated its focus on 100 percent compliance with labour regulations and maintaining law and order in the industrial sector.
