Madhya Pradesh: A political controversy has erupted in Madhya Pradesh after BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi publicly confronted a police officer over the investigation into a road accident involving his son, with a video of his remarks drawing widespread attention.
The row intensified after Lodhi objected to comments allegedly made by a local police officer during action taken against his son following the Thar crash in Shivpuri district. In the viral video, the MLA is seen challenging the officer and warning against what he described as unfair treatment in the case.
Lodhi also raised concerns over the ongoing investigation, cautioning police against what he called a biased probe and suggesting there would be consequences if the inquiry crossed legal limits. His remarks have since triggered debate over political pressure and police independence.
Police, however, have maintained that the investigation is proceeding under law. Officials have said a case has been registered in connection with the crash and the matter remains under probe.
The controversy stems from an accident in which an SUV allegedly driven by Lodhi’s son reportedly struck multiple people, leaving several injured. Based on complaints and preliminary findings, police initiated legal action and launched an investigation.
With the confrontation now escalating into a wider political flashpoint, attention remains focused on both the crash investigation and the fallout from the MLA’s remarks.
