Patna: On the auspicious occasion of Chhath and Diwali, the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) organised a Rangoli and Deepotsav celebration at Pati Pul Ghat in Digha. The event witnessed the presence of Patna Divisional Commissioner and BUIDCO Managing Director Animesh Parashar and Patna Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena.

The celebration began with the ceremonial lighting of lamps by Commissioner Animesh Parashar, Commissioner Yashpal Meena, and PMC’s Swachhata Awareness Campaign Brand Ambassador and noted folk singer, Dr. Nitu Kumari Navgeet. As thousands of earthen lamps illuminated the riverbank, the glittering scene sent a powerful message of “Chakachak Patna.”
Commissioner Animesh Parashar remarked that maintaining a clean and beautiful Patna is everyone’s collective goal, urging all citizens to contribute to keeping the city and entire division shining bright. Dr. Nitu Kumari Navgeet captivated the audience with her soul-stirring performances.

She presented cleanliness-themed songs and, on public demand, sang traditional Chhath hymns such as “Maangi La Hum Vardan He Ganga Maiya,” “Chhathi Mai Ke Karab Hum Vartiya,” “Kanch Hi Baans Ke Bahangiya,” “Kelwa Ke Paat Par Ugelan Surujdev,” “Pahile Pahil Hum Kaini Chhath Ke Baratiya,” “Patna Ke Ghat Par Hamhu Argia Dehab He Chhathi Maiya,” and “Kaune Khet Janmal Dhaan Sudhan Ho…” The entire atmosphere at the Ganga ghat was filled with devotion, light, and the spirit of cultural unity.
