Durgapur/Krishnanagar, May 6 , 2024 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday assured the people of Durgapur of reopening all closed factories in this industrial district and informed the people that the Narendra Modi government has planned to pump more fund for Durgapur Steel Plant and Urea factory here. Addressing an election rally in favour of Durgapur-Bardhaman Lok Sabha candidate Dilip Ghosh, Shah accused the Mamata Banerjee- led TMC government of letting her goons run a reign of terror across Bengal and said industries were closed down for alleged extortion. He accused the TMC government of encouraging infiltrators from across the borders to increase her vote banks. Shah said several unlawful elements, who were against the national interests, were also making the border areas as shelters. Shah said the Congress and TMC had been opposing the consecration of Ram Lala and
establishment of Ram Temple at Ayodhya but Modi did in his second term after Bengal gave 18 MPs in 2019 Lok Sabha poll.
” We had invited Mamata Banerjee and her nephew to attend the consecration of Ram Lala on January 22 but both of them
did not turn up because they fear losing vote banks, and you know who are their vote banks, ” Shah said. The oppositions like Congress, Communists and TMC had also opposed the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, especially Rahul Gandhi warning that there will be blood shed, Shah said. ” In the last 5 years since the abrogation of Article 370, forget bloodshed not a single incident happened of stone throwing in J&K, ” Shah pointed out. Shah also slammed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, saying the 80-year-old man is accusing the BJP why the party raised the matter of J&K in Rajasthan and Bengal because the Congress preferred to divide the countrymen for its vested interests. Listing the Modi government achievements in the past ten years, Shah
said many of them have not reached Bengal owing to the alleged opposition by the TMC government.
