Shri Ashish Sood lays foundation stones for several development works in Virender Nagar, Chanakya Place, and Mahavir Enclave in his Janakpuri constituency.

New Delhi,18APRIL 2025: Delhi Minister of Home, Power, Education and Urban Development Shri Ashish Sood today laid the foundation for multiple development works in his Janakpuri constituency, covering Virender Nagar, Chanakya Place, and Mahavir Enclave Part-2. The projects include installation of new pipelines for roads, sewer systems, and clean drinking water. He directed Delhi Jal Board officials to complete the work within two to six months.

Beginning with Virender Nagar, Shri Sood inaugurated road, sewer, and water pipeline works in Lanes 1, 2, and 5, emphasizing separate pipelines for water and sewer lines. He instructed officials to ensure proper drainage in areas without sewer systems ahead of the monsoon.

Responding to complaints about locked and poorly maintained public toilets near Bharti College and BF Block, he assured swift action. He also announced that by the end of 2025, all lanes in Virender Nagar will have sewer lines.

At Chanakya Place’s 30-Foota Road, Shri Sood laid the foundation for additional sewer and roadworks, instructing speedy completion of the 120-foot road in ‘Azad Juice Wali Gali.’ He also directed immediate repairs of hanging electric wires to prevent summer hazards.

In Mahavir Enclave Part-2 (B Block, Lane 31), the Minister initiated work on sewer and water pipelines, setting a June 30 deadline for completion. He assured residents that soon no lane in the area would be left without proper infrastructure.

Reaffirming his commitment to inclusive development under PM Modi’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Shri Sood pledged to make Janakpuri a model for urban transformation in Delhi.

During the visit, he interacted with residents and issued on-the-spot instructions to resolve issues such as sewer blockages, dirty tap water, broken streetlights, and neglected parks. He emphasized action over blame, stating, “As your elected MLA and a Cabinet Minister, it is my responsibility to resolve every concern on priority. Our government, under CM Rekha Gupta, is fully committed to delivering results on the ground.”
